Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Duties:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of diesel vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
- Inspect and test equipment to identify any issues or malfunctions
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs
- Order parts and maintain inventory of supplies
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Skills:
- Proficiency in assembling and disassembling diesel engines and components
- Experience with heavy equipment operation
- Familiarity with various hand tools used in diesel mechanics
- Knowledge of electrical systems in diesel vehicles
- Ability to perform tire service including installation, rotation, and repair
- Expertise in equipment repair including suspension systems, brakes, and steering components
- Experience working in a dealership or similar automotive environment is a plus
- Ability to align wheels using precision instruments is an advantage
- Proficiency in using power tools for efficient repairs
