Applicants applying for the GS-2210-12 must meet the following requirements:
Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in performing pivotal research with regard to on-going data management system initiatives for capturing, cataloging, indexing, and presenting information; 2) Planning for the total database environment including database management systems, data dictionaries, security systems, communication software, and end user software; 3) Assisting in designing and implementing new systems and major enhancements to existing systems; and 4) Assisting in representing the customer support office in planning for the installation and implementation of new systems (e.g., upgrade to a new operating system).
Applicants applying for the GS-2210-13 must meet the following requirements:
Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing pivotal research with regard to on-going data management system initiatives for capturing, cataloging, indexing, and presenting information; 2) Resolving critical issues affecting the configuration of databases and systems to demonstrate enhanced data management tools to customers and management; 3) Providing technical advisory services to the functional user communities across the organization and other customer bases; 4) Planning for the total database environment including database management systems, data dictionaries, security systems, communication software, and end user software; and, 5) Designing and implementing new systems and major enhancements to existing systems.
For all IT positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
