Hospitality Finance Controller of our Hospitality Group which includes the following businesses: Mike Anderson’s – Gonzales, Mike Anderson’s - Prairieville, Clarion Inn, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express. The Finance Controller oversees our bookkeeping team and manages our financial operations.
You will be responsible for developing financial strategies, creating budgets, managing financial statements, overseeing accounts payable and receivables, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. To be successful in this role, the controller must possess a positive attitude, have a strong financial background, excellent analytical skills, and be able to provide leadership with financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all aspects of accounting, finance, and financial operations in several restaurants and hotels.
- Directs the improvement of current financial, accounting, and reporting systems. Current systems managed in Resaurant365 and Paylocity payroll.
- Perform pro forma financial analysis, including evaluating potential purchases of each locations, and annual/ongoing budgeting process.
- Create accounting standard operating procedures.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and functions, as needed, across several restaurants and hotels to improve operational efficiencies and reporting.
- Supervise accounting team on daily and monthly accounting activities.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for restaurant and hotel locations.
- Perform regular account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Perform cash account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of cash handling and deposits.
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Compile, prepare and present statement of cash flows and both financial and operational financial reports to senior managers and owners.
- Manage the month-end close process and ensure timely completion of financial statements.
- Assist with year-end work papers for audit/tax.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices.
- Site visits as required.
- Other duties as required.
To be a champion in this role, you will need these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 5+ years experience in financial accounting and management, in the restaurant industry preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop financial models and forecasts.
- Experience with Restaurant365 or other large scale accounting software, inventory management software, and POS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to prepare Financial Statements and audit bank reconciliations and balance sheets.
- Knowledge of A/R, A/P, GL, payroll and sales taxes.
- Cash handling and deposits.
- Oversees execution of required daily tasks reporting.
