Chief Engineer Job Description
Position Summary: The Chief Engineer oversees the entire engineering department, leading a team to complete various projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with other engineers and technicians, approving designs, calculating costs, negotiating contracts, and executing plans safely and efficiently. Additionally, you’ll support engineering projects throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Team Leadership: Communicate the company’s goals to all engineers and professionals in the team.
- Project Supervision: Oversee every phase of projects from start to completion.
- Resource Management: Calculate costs, material requirements, labor, and time for each project.
- Design Approval: Approve designs and budgets.
- Task Delegation: Delegate tasks to engineering teams.
- Training and Equipment: Supervise staff training and equipment installation.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on all systems and products.
- Conflict Resolution: Quickly resolve disputes between staff.
- Recognition: Acknowledge and reward good work.
- Reporting: Analyze data and draft reports for review.
Position Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (Master’s degree preferable).
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience leading or supervising a team.
- Technical Knowledge: A sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude and restore morale to the team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Feedback Handling: Ability to process negative feedback professionally.
- Work Environment: Comfortable working onsite and in the office.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
