Director of 147 School
Summary
This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight for all the activities and operations for the Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) Program.
The Director is responsible for leadership, development, coordination, and supervision of program offerings and ensures compliance with FAA academic requirements and policies. He/she will oversee the review and evaluation of instructional materials including syllabi and other documents. The Director will plan, organize, and implement programs, track data, ensure adherence to performance benchmarks, and reports progress to the Corporate Director of 147. He/she will supervise all instructors and educational support staff. Other responsibilities include:
Essential Functions:
- Management of all FAA Part 147 AMTS operations.
- Supervising all Part 147 instructors and education support staff on campus.
- Serving as the liaison between the campus and the corporate managers.
- Auditing all school curricula to ensure the instructors are using the most up-to-date syllabi.
- Act as the campus point of contact with the FAA FSDO office.
- Responsible for all FAA related reporting criteria and requirements from the Part 147 FAA Quality Control Manual.
- Conduct annual performance reporting on instructor or as needed.
- Conducting classroom observations and substituting as instructor as needed.
- Creating, monitoring, and updating Faculty Personnel Report for each instructor.
- Assisting with the organization and facilitation of all Program Advisory Committee meetings.
- Facilitating ongoing instructor development with educational personnel.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of 147.
Education:
- High School Diploma
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (must have either Airframe or Powerplant certificate to be considered).
- Classroom teaching experience
Required Skills:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Work Environment:
While performing duties of this job, the employee will be working with domestic and international students. The employee must demonstrate cultural and religious sensitivity at all times, including in off-duty hours and at Epic and its partner locations.
