SUMMARY
Is responsible for keeping facilities operating and repairing maintenance issues. Performs a wide range of repair and preventative maintenance tasks around multiple facilities in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties. Checks repair requests for needs and coordinates with Operations Manager on solutions and costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine maintenance around the buildings including basic carpentry, fixing cosmetic damage to the building, and addressing staff concerns submitted through the work order ticketing system.
Repairs broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage, such as kitchen or bathroom fixtures.
Repairs basic electrical issues with lighting or electrical wiring, such as changing bulbs, fixing outlet wiring, or replacing light fixtures.
Checks control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
Completes preventative maintenance tasks (change furnace filters, check the generators and conduct or schedule the maintenance, etc.). Conducts periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
Completes minor painting in offices or hallways as needed to improve/touch up the area.
Inspects buildings, equipment, and systems for any issues. Coordinates tests of the functionality of the facility’s safety systems with the vendor.
Collaborates with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
Reports to Operations Manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
Maintains accurate records and provides timely receipts of expenditures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent with proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
Travel throughout Kankakee and Iroquois Counties is required. Mileage is reimbursed. Vehicle is not provided.
