This position is responsible for Information Services across a designated Tenet Hospital Market including, but not limited to Hospital IS Field Services, Telecom, Local Data Center Operations, Local Application Support and departmental budget. This leader contributes to strategy and oversees the Hospital Market’s information systems execution of strategy aligned to policies and practices in collaboration with neighboring market leadership teams.
Responsible for direction in the execution of strategy with participation in the development, planning, and management of ongoing initiatives through the use of technology, clinical systems, and innovation. This individual supports the execution of critical initiatives in collaboration with other Market Leadership and under the direction of the IS Client Delivery Leader. The leader must baseline and define business objectives aligned with strategy, articulate the planned evolution and successfully execution thereof. The ongoing delivery of relevant and measurable metrics to Hospital and IS Leadership is tracked and communicated effectively to relevant leadership teams.
The position supports all key Hospital and Market programs by aligning critical projects and associated outcomes with the Tenet mission, vision and values. This position will understand and align to executive strategy and must display the highest degree of professionalism, communication, and collaboration skills. As a senior member of the Hospital IS Leadership team, this position will work with colleagues to anticipate market trends, analyze the impacts and benefits of evolving healthcare information technologies. A key aspect of the role is the engagement of C-suite leaders, providers, clinical and support staff in the operational delivery using technology. This leader will work with executives in advancing high reliability, predictability and quality through clinical, business and integrated applications.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology preferred or equivalent experience.
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience with 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing health information technology projects, to support and measure quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, regulatory and/or governmental programs. Experience in infrastructure, service desk and ITSM preferred.
- Strong financial acumen required as the role will be responsible for approving monthly invoices, purchase requisitions, and identifying cost-savings opportunities.
- Ability to evaluate the current market conditions, develop a proactive plan to address those issues, and effectively implement them.
- Customer service focus. Proven ability to understand the needs of internal and external customers and to follow-up on commitments.
- Ability to manage customer escalations and communicate regularly with local leaders across the market during major outages. Partners with local IS teams and Clinical Informaticists to communicate planned IT outages.
