We are currently hiring for a Billing Support Specialist. This position is a remote position. The Billing Support Specialist will provide billing support to the Billing Department, acting as the point of contact for patients, staff, payers and providers with questions or concerns regarding their billing transactions and payments.

Duties / Responsibilities
- Enters patient charges, productivity, and office volumes on a daily basis.
- Receives and processes all invoices for insurance claims and adding payments by the end of the month while ensuring accuracy.
- Post all credit and debit adjustments to patient accounts with strict adherence to the company guidelines.
- Establish payment plans with patients within approved guidelines.
- Process refunds to insurance companies and patients in accordance with billing office protocol.
- Conducts routine audits as necessary to ensure accurate billing.
- Working Aged Report for claims.
- Maintain required billing records, reports, or files.
- Provide customer service for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts in accordance with practice protocol.
- Stay current on billing, coding and payer policies.
- Adhere to all practice policies related to HIPAA, Medicare Compliance, and OSHA.
- Effectively review Clearinghouse and Payer Level Rejects and correct accordingly.
- Tracks and maintains operational statistics and accurately reports data to Finance and other appropriate entities monthly

Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum education level of high school diploma and/or equivalent education.
- 3 years of experience in a medical office environment (required),
- Minimum of 2 years Health Care Billing industry experience,
Required Skills / Abilities
- 3 years of experience in medical billing preferred.
- ICD-10/CPT Knowledge or Certification a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility preferred.
- Possesses problem-solving skills, and basic computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Accurate accounting and write-off standards.
- Ability to create own goals to achieve positive results.
- Effectively communicates edit trends to Management.
- Proficient in Google Suite.

- Work from home requirements: Computer literacy, stable high speed internet connection, quiet/private location to perform work and join team meetings.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US.
- Must be able to work long periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Shift: 8-5 or 9-6 (EST) M-F
