Performs cleaning and minor maintenance duties in care of Guild Hall building, Guild House, adjacent walkways, parking lot, and grounds and maintains equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition. Provides assistance to staff, visitors and other employees as necessary. Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment in lobby, galleries, offices, gardens, and theater for meetings, programs or events.
General Duties:
● Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule.
● Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways and windows.
● Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, and clean floors.
● Vacuums and spot clean carpets and floors.
● Uses garden hose to clean terraces and loading dock.
● Uses lawn mower to mow lawns at Guild Hall and Guild House.
● Dusts, polishes, and sanitizes furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment.
● Washes walls, steel beams, woodwork, windows, doors and sills using ladders
● Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
● Performs touch up and finish painting.
● Empties wastebaskets.
● Flattens cardboard.
● Replenishes restroom supplies.
● Replaces light bulbs.
● Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment in galleries, offices, gardens, and theater for meetings, programs or events.
● Clears snow and spreads ice melt at entrances and walkways as required.
● Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to rooms.
● Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
● Notifies supervisor concerning need for all repairs and supplies.
● Performs walkthroughs of entire building and basement daily.
● Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
● Receive deliveries and put away in storage.
● Pick-up litter/garbage outside the building. Maintains outside the building cleanliness at all times.
Additional Duties:
● Participates in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
● Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walkways.
● Provides assistance to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
● Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment.
● Performs preventative maintenance and keeps logs of work performed.
● Accompanies contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
● Participates in building coverage by working evenings and weekends as required.
● Understanding and carrying out oral and written direction; setting work priorities; working independently in the absence of supervision; establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
