SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and utilities including ammonia compressors, offal, and Wastewater Department.
Responsibilities include: assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions; ensure that all maintenance personnel are well trained on the most updated version of operating equipment and motivated so maintenance programs and processes can be accomplished in a safe, timely and efficient manner, as well as, other maintenance skills; provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs; monitor operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify issues; establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system, SAP (or current Tyson computer program), for tracking work orders, adequate and appropriate inventory of replacement parts;
Other duties include: ensure all safety, health, OSHA, PSM and environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with company policy, as well as, local, state, and federal regulations; monitor and administer purchasing and use of all parts and equipment materials and supplies utilized in the maintenance department; ensure refrigeration system and wastewater systems are well maintained and meet all regulatory guidelines; administer the maintenance budget and ensure the achievement of financial goals.
REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred.

Experience: 6 years of industrial maintenance field preferred, 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a meat processing facility, and knowledge of OSHA, USDA and HACCP regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; interview, hire, and train team members; plan, assign, and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems.

Special Skills: Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality, yields, cost and efficiencies, strong math ability a plus.
Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
