JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Account Manager serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of customer accounts who have selected East West as their manufacturing partner. Position responsibilities include account retention and growth, management of account financial exposure to minimize financial risk to East West, and tactical account management tasks including assessing product demand, addressing customer inquiries, managing order schedules, and coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs. The successful candidate will develop/maintain strong customer relationships, execute responsibilities on time and with precision, and utilize their relationships and knowledge of East West’s services portfolio to profitably grow their accounts.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Relationship Management
- Gather and communicate customer feedback and priorities to the Business Unit

Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to achieve customer goals and KPIs

Foster and maintain customer relationships at both tactical and strategic organizational levels

Coordinate and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)

Participate in customer onboarding activities including explanation and negotiation of legal agreements (select sections – training/support to be provided by East West)
Commercial Performance and Growth
- Gain a working understanding of customer needs and growth opportunities via customer discussions

Monitor, manage, and regularly report customer’s forecasted product demand (including changes)

Communicate pricing changes including Purchase Price Variances (PPV) and price increase activity

Develop business expansion plans via East West value-added services including Design Services, New Product Introduction, BOM Analysis, Logistics, Vertical Integration, Supply Chain, etc.

Seek new business opportunities, delivering product quotations and tracking opportunities in Salesforce
- Visit customers as needed to develop customer rapport and improve East West perception as a supplier

Actively participate in the annual budgeting process with Business Unit and East West HQ leadership

Support the Account Management team by assisting with commercial activities.

Pricing, cost, and proposal analysis

QFD revisions and processing, include freight analysis and customer requests

Complete Item set up for new part numbers and revisions

Assist with implementation of price changes
Net Working Capital (NWC)
- Monitor and manage utilization of East West capital to mitigate financial risk and exposure

Present excess/obsolete inventory levels regularly, ensuring compliance with legal agreements

Utilize account relationships to generate customer payments against past-due invoices
Business Unit Performance Metrics

Monitor financial metrics (revenue, gross margin, EBITDA); ensure compliance with budgeted amounts

Own the account P&L, identifying/implementing actions to mitigate risk and enhance account profitability

Monitor KPIs including quality, OTD, NWC usage, profitability, etc.; drive improvements as needed

Solicit supplier scorecards from customers to assess perception and drive internal improvement

General

Address and resolve customer concerns, escalating internally as needed; seek cross-functional process improvements to reduce the risk of repeated concerns

Process new orders using defined order entry procedures; provide order acknowledgements and confirmations to customers

Present and review Open Order Report with customer on a weekly basis, including assessment of critical component availability and product delivery scheduling

Oversee customer change order management (Engineering Change Orders, demand changes, etc.)

Process RMAs per defined RMA procedures

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, or related field

3-5 years in a sales, program/account management, or engineering role with direct customer interaction

Excellent written/oral communication and active listening skills

Ability to collect, track, and analyze large datasets to address specific business questions

Creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask/prioritize

Ability to engage, influence, and build trustful relationships with internal/external parties serving in tactical/strategic roles
- Experience owning cross-functional initiatives and working collaboratively with internal/external parties to successfully achieve desired outcomes

Ability to quickly learn East West’s service offerings and effectively extend these offerings to customers

Understanding of buying behaviors and industry trends

Working knowledge of financials, budgeting, and forecasting experience strongly preferred

Strong working proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); CRM experience preferred
