Job Overview
Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates (BGA) is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring the company’s financial health and compliance.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement financial strategies in line with BGA goals
· Provide leadership in all financial planning and reporting activities
· Manage the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and forecasting, which includes partner distributions, while recommending benchmarks against which to measure the performance of BGA operations
· Uphold an orderly accounting filing system, which involves the evaluation of receivables and payables. Ensure correct GL and/or more specified GL to ensure payment in a timely manner. Report any abnormalities as well as investigating outlier payors to improve and maintain accurate collections
· Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions to include:
o Ensure cash deposits are accounted for without loss
o Managing authorized resources that have the ability to change benefits or compensation, to ensure they are limited and monitored
· Provide financial analyses as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations to include the following:
o Joint-ventures
o Ancillary Service Lines
o Payor Agreements
o Leases
o Hospital funded coverage agreements, subsidies and salary guarantee arrangements
· Identify variances from target and report significant discrepancies to practice management
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required; MBA, MFA or CPA preferred
· Experience in health care management is preferred
· Extensive experience in technical accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting required
· Excellent leadership and communication skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
