A healthcare organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their team! This role is pivotal in managing financial operations, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and assisting the Controller in maintaining the organization's financial integrity. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller in overseeing daily financial operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Aid in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and resolve audit findings promptly.
- Supervise accounts payable functions.
- Provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Big Six audit experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with healthcare or medical practice experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with financial audits and compliance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
