Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team in the food industry. The Butcher will be responsible for preparing meats for sale or consumption by performing various duties such as cutting, packaging, and displaying meat products.
Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, and prepare cuts of meat according to quality standards
- Package, weigh, price, and label meat products for sale
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with meat selection and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a butchery, restaurant, or food production setting preferred
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to use various kitchen tools and equipment including knives and slicers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with customers effectively
- Culinary background or training is a plus
