Job Description
Serve as executive assistant to the Vice President for Agricultural Administration and Dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences; provide senior-level administrative support for the VP/Dean; independently perform administrative work of a complex nature, conveying highly sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality; take ownership of and commit to the nature/scope of work of the Senior Executive Assistant role (not just facilitate the work of others); serve as primary contact and liaison for the VP/Dean's office, with the majority of interactions being with external stakeholders (primarily industry/corporate executives and leaders), also serve as the liaison for internal University offices including the Office of the President and Office of Academic Affairs.
Use substantial judgment and independent decision-making authority while continuously assessing priorities to ensure alignment of both short term and long-term priorities of the VP/Dean; learn the college and affiliated industries, and stay current on issues of importance to further inform priorities for scheduling and preparation; keep the Dean and Chief of Staff apprised of important events, activities and shifting priorities throughout the university and college; develop and maintain strong internal and external networks within the college and university, and externally with key alumni, donors, partners, commodity groups, industry leaders and offices, and political affiliates.
Convene and lead group of college leadership administrative assistants (approx. 18 people) to coordinate efforts and share best practices for supporting members of the Vice President’s Cabinet and Department Chairs; work closely with the Dean’s Chief of Staff to assist with projects; attend meetings and serve as a representative and liaison of the VP/Dean and college throughout the university.
Maintain the VP/Dean's calendar; schedule meetings and oversee special events hosted by the VP/Dean; provide daily briefings for the VP/Dean and for all meetings; serve as first point of contact for the VP/Dean responding to inquiries and preparing routine and complex correspondence; provide logistics management for VP/Dean and college meetings; take and maintain meeting minutes and ensure follow-up on action items; supervise and delegate/manage work of Office Associate that assists with calendaring, briefings, filing, travel, events, and hosting meetings; serves as a member of the broader Dean’s Office support team; perform other duties as assigned.
Position requires incumbent to work full-time in the Columbus campus office during normal business hours of 8AM – 5PM; may eventually have the option to work remotely 1 or 2 days a week. Occasional nights/weekends may be required to support events/meetings.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent edu/exp (equivalent experience is sufficient if no degree)
Required Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience successfully providing senior administrative support to a senior-level executive (President, Provost or Vice President/Provost in higher education or C-suit executive); experience working within and navigating business within stringent policies, rules, and regulations; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints and pressure; curiosity and interest in learning the college and industries of food, agriculture, and environmental sciences; extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).Desired Qualifications Working knowledge of higher education.
The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
