Job Title: Dental Hygiene Coordinator
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our team. The Dental Hygiene Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dental hygiene department by managing patient appointments, coordinating schedules, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule dental hygiene appointments for patients based on their needs and availability.
- Coordinate with dental hygienists and other staff to optimize daily schedules and maximize efficiency.
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, answer their questions, and ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including updating dental/medical histories and treatment plans as needed.
- Manage dental hygiene supply inventory and place orders as necessary.
- Follow up with patients regarding their appointments, treatment plans, and outstanding balances.
- Process payments and assist with insurance claims and billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with the front desk team to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient operations.
- Educate patients on dental hygiene practices and the importance of regular check-ups.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a dental office setting, preferably as a dental assistant or in a similar administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
