Overview
The person filling this position should be a highly experienced aviation maintenance management professional with significant experience maintaining a fleet of multiple C-130 aircraft. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage IAR's C-130 aircraft to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and maximum operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Act to ensure company aircraft are airworthy and ready to the maximum extent possible to optimize aircraft availability.
Monitor and communicate current and projected readiness of company aircraft to DFO in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with company's Approved Inspection Program (AIP), as well as applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and company policies.
Identify, prioritize and present for approval an advised way forward on foreseeable maintenance requirements.
Evaluate effectiveness of external maintenance providers and vendors.
Ensure all maintenance-related documentation complies with relevant civil aviation regulations and is complete, accurate, accessible, and securely stored in accordance with company policies at all times.
Identify and recommend potential improvements in internal maintenance practices and policies.
Act as the company's fleet representative for all maintenance-related activities on company aircraft in-house and at contractor facilities.
Oversee the performance of maintenance activities to ensure work on company aircraft is delivered as contracted.
Plan and coordinate the aircraft maintenance schedule with maintenance providers.
Maintain a working relationship with manufacturers' representatives, suppliers, outside service support entities, and regulatory authorities.
Maintain the AIP and manage its revision process.
Advise the DFO and assist flight crews in the interpretation of the AIP and Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
Coordinate with Safety Department to resolve safety issues related to fleet maintenance.
Request Flight Operations personnel when required to assist with maintenance activities and manage those personnel while engaged in those activities.
Ensure personnel assigned to DOM maintain compliance with regulations and approved company policies.
Manage other related initiatives as requested.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience maintaining C-130 aircraft required
- Experience managing multiple aircraft in a fleet setting required
- Experience managing a team required
- FAA IA designation preferred
- C-130 or P-3 Flight Engineer rating preferred
