Oversee the procurement of production components to Gainesville and Jefferson, manage supplier relationships and ensure best quality and cost are achieved.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to quality, delivery performance, schedule and cost
Analyze and select suppliers based upon quality performance, on-time delivery and competitive pricing
Create supplier performance improvement plans to drive higher performance
Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality to obtain the best total cost
Manage supplier relationships and business environment
Improve supplier capabilities and capacities
Identify cost savings opportunities through process improvement / design change ideas
Travel required (up to 15% domestic and/or international)
Qualifications/ Education
BA/BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Materials Management or 2 years post-secondary education and 5 years purchasing or related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Kubota product and market
Previous purchasing or buying experience
Technical experience with associated commodities
Fundamental accounting terms and procedures
Fundamental business transactions and terms
Strong MS Office skills
Working conditions
Office environment with frequent visits to Manufacturing and Warehouse environment.
Travel required (up to 15% domestic and/or international).
Physical requirements
Office environment: Sitting at computer station and work area.
Ability to walk the manufacturing floor.
