Purpose:
The FP&A is seeking a highly motivated Manager. The position will work as an integral member of an experienced and highly skilled Finance team and responsible for analyzing and summarizing financial and operational data with a heavy focus on merchandising. The role has primary responsibility for all aspects relating to Sales, Margin, and Inventory for a portfolio of departments. The Finance Manager will provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis related to all aspects of business, which impact the Merchandising organization’s key metrics and strategy. This role will personally own the creation and management of their Department Sales, Margin, and Inventory budget, forecast, and reporting processes.
To achieve the stated objectives, it will be critical that the Manager collaborate, clearly communicate with, and influence cross-functional partners, including executive level partners. This individual should have a deep understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting; be able to balance many competing priorities; be able to quickly synthesize information; develop cross-functional trust and collaboration; and influence in environments where he/she may not have the formal authority.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. MBA a plus

At least 5 years of relevant experience - retail a plus

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.

Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.

Financial analysis, strategic thinking, and presentation skills

Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Power Point

Project management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

Judgement and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions.

Experience with and knowledge of SQL a plus

Essential Job Functions

Develops financial models and analyses to support Floor and Decor’s most critical strategic initiatives and investments.

Provide Executive summaries on key indicators involving Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, and other business functions

Analyze complex financial data and summarize results and recommendations to management for decision making purposes

Support Senior Management and Departments with in-depth analysis, including financial models, ROI analyses, and proformas

Drive standardization and process improvement across all planning aspects including best practices

Implement and work with Business Intelligence tools and dashboard reporting

Prepare weekly and monthly reports

Perform special project ad-hoc reporting

Supports annual budget process, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness.
