The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Mechanic to join our Public Works Department!
This is an in-person position
$1,000 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking for a Mechanic that will perform repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting, consisting of basic and intermediate work on a variety of gas- and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:
- Performs troubleshooting and repair procedures on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Uses computer diagnostic equipment to perform preventative and unscheduled repairs on a wide variety of systems and components used in light and heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Performs welding repairs.
- Keeps accurate records of parts used and repairs performed and make entries to fleet software system.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications/skills:
- Aptitude for maintenance and repair work
- Good communication, diagnostic and accurate record-keeping skills
- Good time management, judgement and decision making skills
- Strong initiative and dedication to perform high quality work
- Ability to interpret and work from schematics and drawings
- High School diploma or equivalent preferably supplemented by auto and equipment trade schools
- Minimum of four years of experience at journeyman mechanic level
- State of Colorado UST Operator A and UST Operator B certification or ability to obtain
- State of Colorado CDL Class with B with P2 and tanker endorsement or ability to obtain
- Participate in the Federal Transporation Administration random drug testing program
