Generations Geriatric Mental Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a passion for working with older adults to join our team of clinicians providing care to local long term care and assisted living facilities. This position permits the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work independently while having additional team supports. Our practice includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, neuropsychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and registered nurses. We partner with many facilities in the Greater Manchester, Greater Nashua, Derry, and Seacoast areas of the State and are setting standards of care for dementia and behavioral health services. We provide a broad array of services including individual psychotherapy, psychotropic medication management, behavior management and cognitive evaluation.
The right candidate will possess an advanced practice degree in nursing with a certification in psychiatric adult mental health. This individual will have an unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority and a DEA number. Prior geriatric experience preferred and a passion for working with older adults is what makes this job so rewarding.
The position lends itself well to a candidate who is self-directed and motivated, has excellent communication skills, and possesses strong critical thinking abilities. Candidates who are most suited for this position are organized and efficient, but able to respond positively to a fluctuating and unpredictable environment.
