Job Description:
As a member of the Research and Documentation Team, the Technical Writer composes all technical documentation for distribution to external partners and end users as well as documentation for internal distribution. This position communicates with subject matter experts throughout the organization to gather information needed to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. This position is also responsible for ensuring required documentation is completed in time to meet production and other deadlines.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Gather information from a variety of sources, and concisely and accurately document that information in a way that is engaging and understandable by the intended audience.
- Communicate with staff members throughout the organization to create release notes, user and developer guides, online help, and various other external documentation for multiple software applications as needed.
- Maintain email distribution lists for company partners and end users, and use those lists to email release notes, notices, and other reminders to external partners and end users.
- Identify, monitor, and update work items in company tracking system to ensure release notes are complete and accurate.
- Manage the release notes process for multiple software applications through the promotion lifecycle.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and completed on time to meet production and other deadlines.
- Ensure documentation meets Section 508 compliance requirements when needed.
- Write, review, and maintain documentation for internal use, including HR documentation, templates, checklists, operating procedures, etc.
- Create, review, and distribute a wide variety of miscellaneous documentation as requested.
- Other duties as required.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; CommonLook Office; software applications for basic HTML coding.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint tools for documentation collaboration.
- Ability to use various applications to capture/create graphics and screenshots.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in technical writing, English, business, healthcare administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field. Additional experience, industry knowledge, and certifications may substitute for educational requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical writing role.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
- Advanced skills in HTML coding.
- Basic understanding of the healthcare industry including medical billing and coding.
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Pay: $72,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
