About us
Hoverstream, LLC.
hovestream.com
Small local company needs an experienced sewing technician for production sewing work. We are a hovercraft manufacturer (much like a boat except it flies on a cushion of air) and make most of our parts in house. You would be responsible for everything sewing related in the production of a hovercraft. Most of the work will be cutting and assembling what we call "skirts." These are the fabric pieces around the bottom of a hovercraft. Other items include marine upholstery work for our seating as well as fitted covers and a few other items.
Good work ethic and reliability are an absolute must. This is a small, fun family company and no one will be looking over your shoulder as you work. A strong work ethic and good self-motivation is required. Because it's small place, there is variety in what you do to keep things interesting. You won't have the monotony of a typical production job doing one part over and over. People who work here generally love it and stay for years. Hours are flexible, but must be between 8 and 5 Monday through Friday.
If you happen to have your own equipment that can do the job, some of the work can be done remotely once you're fully trained.
A minimum commitment of at least 16 hours per week is required, preferably 20. During busy times times of the year additional hours will be available if you want them. Some past sewing experience IS REQUIRED. A professional sewing background is strongly preferred, but we're willing to consider active hobby sewing if you can show your skills. Experience with upholstery work, particularly marine or automotive upholstery, is a huge plus.
