Job Duties:
- Perform microbiology testing on raw materials, finished products, and environmental monitoring (EM) samples.
- Perform USP Suitability testing on new and newly formulated products.
- Perform Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing on new and newly formulated products.
- Perform Growth Promotion and Sterility testing on new media batches.
- Author and perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization protocols.
- Manage Lab media and inventory and reorder necessary lab supplies.
- Submit micro identifications to out-source laboratories.
- Perform Gram-stain testing.
- Participate in laboratory support functions (ie. cleaning, logbook review, material stocking).
- Maintain laboratory equipment in a clean and calibrated state.
- Report testing results via Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).
- Manage variable sample influx by potentially adjusting daily schedule.
- Stay up to date on current protocols with SOP updates.
- Perform SOP updates accordingly.
- Work efficiently and effectively with other team members.
- Communicate expected sample test times and results with QC Lab Assistants.
- Assist in the collection of Environmental Monitoring sample collection (ie.active air, surface swabs, compressed air, particulate/oil, and non-viable air particle).
- Attend team, department, and corporate meetings as required.
- Occasional (1-2 weekends per month) weekend work probable.
- Able to work regular weekday schedule (M-F 8-5).
What you'll need to succeed:
- Integrity is a requirement
- Document original work (ALCOA) attributably, legibly, contemporaneously, and accurately in accordance with cGMP.
- Perform all task per cGMP and SOPs.
- Remain current on regulatory requirements concerning QC Microbiology testing in regulated environments.
- Precise attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to physically lift, handle and manipulate manufacturing equipment for sampling (ie, hoses, clamps, and sampling ports).
- Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Ability to manage variable work efficiently and effectively.
- Familiarity with MS excel, outlook, word and LIMS systems.
- Capable of managing and motivating oneself.
What we're looking for in you:
- Bachelor degree in microbiology or related science is preferred.
- Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in a GLP Laboratory environment preferred.
