Cornerstone Lutheran Preschool, Eagle Creek is seeking a dedicated Assistant Preschool Director to assist in overseeing the daily operations and educational programming at our Eagle Creek site. This individual will work in coordination with the Director of Preschools. Job-Type-Part-Time-This position will be 30 hours per week.
Education/Qualifications:
The assistant director will demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with young children and their families, sharing the Gospel in word and deed, and, working with the faculty and staff, prepare children for the next step in their faith and academic journey. This person should:
· Be a Christian with an active faith life with visibility at Cornerstone Lutheran sites.
· Have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related education field (preferred).
· Have a minimum of three years of experience teaching in an early childhood education setting (preferred).
· Have a clean criminal history/abuse background check and complete all employment requirements, including health physical, TB test, drug screen, CPR/First Aid and required training sessions.
· Have the ability to work with and lead staff effectively.
· Have a history of initiative and competence in working effectively without close supervision.
Responsibilities
Self-management and Professional Conduct
The assistant director will:
· See his/her role as having a passion for ministry, understanding the mission of the church and preschool.
· Be ready and able to share the Gospel and personal faith with children, parents, and staff through words, actions, and attitude.
Administrative Leadership
In coordination with the Director, the assistant director will:
· Implement all policies and procedures of Cornerstone Lutheran Preschool leadership.
· Ensure all State and NLSA requirements are met or exceeded.
· Communicate with parents to share highlights of the ministry through Brightwheel, newsletters, etc.
· Assist with phone inquiries, tours, and register and enroll children according to established admissions policy.
· Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and training process for all new staff members.
· Maintain proper adult-child ratios and enrollment as space and classroom availability dictates. The assistant director may be called upon to step into the classroom to maintain proper ratios as well as cover for open staffing positions.
Faculty/Staff Management
The assistant director will:
· Be able to work collaboratively with the staff to promote a Christ-centered environment.
· Work with the staff to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, based on Indiana’s Early Learning Standards, to build a scope and sequence and logical skills sequence which addresses all learning domains. (Bible-based/Faith building, Language/Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Health, Social/Emotional development, and Art/ Music/Physical skills development)
· Assist in providing relevant staff development and professional growth opportunities.
Child Management
The assistant director will:
· Familiarize him/herself with all children in the preschool and their families to better serve the needs of each individual family.
· Assist staff members with children needing extra guidance and care.
· Meet with parents/guardians to discuss the progress of their child as needed.
· Know of special education resources that are available to assist families and guide teachers and families to utilize these services as needed for the success of the child.
Fiscal Management
The assistant director will:
· Assist the Finance Team and Director of Preschools to establish an annual budget and operate within that budget.
· Aide in purchasing equipment and supplies, accounting for all money spent or received and submit records to the business manager.
· Work with the administrative staff to maintain records of children’s attendance, tuition due, tuition collection, and any exceptions that arise in billing or collections.

Pay: $28,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
