Job Overview:
Our growing private medical practice is searching for a Certified Medical Assistant! The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with clients, working as part of a team, and assisting patients in our office. This position will work directly with patients and patient information, so integrity, honesty, and accountability are of the utmost importance. We’re looking for a self-starter who is focused on providing concierge-level customer service for our growing practice. This position reports to our Office Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients.
- Record vital signs, administer venipunctures and injections.
- Assist nurse practitioners with in-office procedures and services.
- Responsible for chart management.
- Provide patients with basic information on all service and product offerings. You will be provided materials to self-learn at your own pace. You will be expected to be knowledgeable within your first 3-6 months.
- Data Entry (For example Microsoft Office Suite, EHR & EMR, Billing Modules, Scheduling Systems)
- Provide customer service across all areas of patient communication – phone triage, appointment scheduling, emails, portal messages.
- Professionally manage phone calls in a timely manner.
- Manage all lab and test reporting for upcoming provider visits, including ordering labs and specialty tests.
- Nutrient supplement management (online Fullscript company).
- Responsible for pharmacy refills and prior approvals.
- Provide electronic written documentation to support verbal communication within the patient chart and patient portal.
- Maintain databases and files of new patient binder, patient information, lab requisitions, and other patient information tags.
- Maintain and restock exam rooms.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, updating payment records, and processing payments.
- Assist with new services added to include Hyperbaric Oxygen therapies, IV nutrition, Shock Wave Therapy, Ozone and Prolozone, VO2MAX exercise bike testing, and Hair restoration technology administration.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification is required.
- 2-3 years of work experience in a busy medical office is required. Experience in functional medicine, concierge medicine, internal medicine, holistic medicine, or health coaching is preferred.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to learn by doing and to recall learned information on multiple software platforms.
- An advanced understanding of medical terminology is required, including CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- CPR certified.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must exhibit composure and always be approachable to both patients and staff alike.
- Must exhibit compassionate, empathetic attitude while providing excellent customer service.
- Experience using Macintosh Apple operating platform, Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records Software systems, Cashed Based EMR Programs, such as CERBO, Practice Fusion, or Mind Body is preferred.
- Must have experience in billing and processing payments.
