Job Description: Electrical Field Specialist
Position Description:
Hanson is seeking a skilled Electrical Field Specialist with expertise in facilities conditions assessments to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering principles, with a focus on assessing power, lighting, and communication systems in various types of facilities. The candidate should have experience in conducting comprehensive facilities conditions assessments and grounding inspections on a wide range of buildings for government and military facilities.
Responsibilities:
· Perform comprehensive facilities condition assessments and communication tower grounding inspections on government and/or military facilities, focusing on electrical systems.
· Review available building drawings, equipment specifications and other information to determine building construction and evaluate whether the installed electrical systems are adequate for current building use.
· Conduct site visits to assess existing electrical systems, identify deficiencies, and propose cost-effective solutions for upgrades or replacements.
· Handling multiple condition assessment and grounding inspection projects in a condensed timeframe.
·Prepare written reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
· Provide high-level cost estimates, utilizing industry-standard cost estimation databases.
· Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. Each facility condition assessment and grounding inspection requires an average of 14 days of site mobilization (CONUS and OCONUS).
Qualifications:
· AS/BA/BS or equivalent experience in Electrical Contracting work, Electrical Engineering, or Facilities Management.
·Minimum of two years of field experience on a variety of facilities, or proven work experience.
· Specific technical experience with performing engineering calculations, utilizing computer software for documentation, and working efficiently with multiple teams.
· Experience performing facilities condition assessments and/or grounding inspections for electrical systems.
·Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
· Have ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including to sites across the continental US and US territories abroad, and live within 2 hours driving time of a US major airport.
· Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations related to electrical systems (NEC, etc).
· Familiarity with Microsoft® Office software.
· Ability to collaborate on multiple projects concurrently.
· Ability to assume task leadership responsibilities by providing guidance/updates to project managers and other specialists and engineers.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Candidate having the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.51 - $32.54 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
