Overview
To control the flow of incoming and outgoing materials and member documents from Navy Federal Credit Union. Record receipts of incoming materials and ensure accurate shipping of outbound materials. Control the traffic in and access to multiple warehouse locations. Resolve escalated issues. Work is performed in an industrial, air conditioned environment and involves tasks in which hands may become soiled. Protective clothing and shoes are provided. Tasks are performed in a standing position and require mobility within the working and adjacent areas.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Procurement and General Accounting in reconciling receipts with vendor invoices to ensure prompt payment
- Coordinate with Marketing and Procurement in developing action plans to expedite special and time critical distributions and comply with priority designations and other special instructions
- Research, identify and recommend vendor equipment and enhancements
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Work with Inventory Control to monitor and maintain appropriate levels of supplies
- Update records and reports to track production and warehouse traffic
- Coordinate to initiate and complete the return of items delivered
- Provide insight and recommendations on workflow improvements within the section
- Assist in training and developing of level I staff
- Ensure adherence to Navy Federal policies and procedures, and safety regulations
- Serve as supervisor in the incumbent's absence
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in shipping, receiving, storage, inventory management, or related clerical or technical roles
- Ability to lead, guide, and mentor others
- Working knowledge of international shipping procedures
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Effective skill in exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
- Effective skill in using automated inventory management and shipping systems
- Effective skill to update/maintain spreadsheets, reports and production tracking documents
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective skill in communicating effectively and tactfully with all levels of employees and vendors
- Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

- Working knowledge of Navy Federal organizational structure and facilities
