Salary: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
Caladwich Consulting LLC is currently seeking a Industrial Hygienist to Complete the comprehensive equipment survey and identify all machinery requiring unique Locked Out & Tagged Out (LOTO) procedure(s) and all equipment sharing standard procedures. Develop all written LOTO procedures within the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.
Qualified candidates will perform a variety of duties to Assess, identify, and document as necessary the controls, lockout or tag out points, power sources, valves, magnitude of energy, and other elements of each piece of equipment on the inventory to write a full LOTO procedure in the approved format.
The Industrial Hygienist will also Setup Customized LOTO Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that shall include the site, location, equipment information (as provided), and other information specific to the site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identify all pieces of equipment which are required to be deenergized and locked-out or tagged-out in accordance with the references.
- Ensure all LOTO procedures will comply with OSHA 29CFR 1910.147 and based on ANSI/ASSE 244.1 guidance as well as the Veterans Affairs (VA) written compliance program.
- Link each piece of equipment on the LOTO inventory with the associated LOTO procedure.
- Ensure the appropriate collection of data needed to create equipment specific LOTO SOPs using customized LOTO software.
- Complete the comprehensive survey of equipment and identify all machinery that require unique (individual) LOTO procedure(s) and all equipment that will share common procedures.
- Assist in the development of the procedures that shall clearly and specifically outline the scope, purpose, authorization, rules, and techniques to be utilized for the control of hazardous energy, and the means to enforce compliance
Requirements:Qualifications / Required Experience:
- Experience with/supporting Federal Government preferred
- Ability to maintain consistent performance in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good working relations with diverse groups.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Excel and MS Teams, alongside proficiency in various MS Office applications including Excel.

Other Requirements:
- All Applicants must demonstrate expert knowledge by meeting at a minimum of two of the below listed requirements:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP),
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH),
- Five (5) or more years of documented experience instructing safety courses based on NFPA 70E and/or LOTO portions of 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 for accredited institutions,
- A Master Tradesperson (or equivalent) with experience working in industrial or healthcare facilities and using LOTO procedures.
- Five or more years as a Journeyman Tradesperson (or equivalent) working in industrial healthcare facilities and using LOTO procedures.
- Documented experience, training, or certifications which demonstrate equivalent levels of knowledge, professionalism and aptitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, occupational safety, industrial technology or related discipline.
