Position: Patient Escort

Location: University of Minnesota Medical Center West Bank Hospital, Minneapolis, MN

FTE: 0.6 (48 hours per pay period) on the evening shift with an every other weekend rotation.

Schedule: Alternating weeks with shifts on Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and additional shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Job Summary: The Patient Escort works under the direction of the Manager & Director of Patient Transport to facilitate the transfer and transport of patients. They play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and promoting a therapeutic environment to support treatment objectives.
Job Duties:

Transporting patients throughout the Riverside Campus to various locations, ensuring service facilitation and patient safety.

Maintaining equipment readiness for prompt patient delivery.

Demonstrating knowledge of safety protocols, infection control standards, and emergency preparedness.

Collaborating with patients, families, and the medical team to meet transport needs.

Ensuring patient satisfaction by promptly addressing transport-related tasks.

Providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and all medical team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Computer experience
-
Strong communication and customer service skills
-
Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
Other Qualifications:

Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift

Ability to lift, transfer, and transport patients and equipment

Similar experience in a related role
