Central California Surgery is seeking a people oriented, achievement motivated and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical weight loss procedures and treatments. This role involves pre-operative and post-operative patient management, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care under the supervision of 4 General Surgeons who specialize in laparoscopic bariatric procedures.
- Work in tandem with nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Working with a multitude of diagnoses, order laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Provide patients and family with appropriate education.
- Prescribe medications.
- Refer patients for specialty consultations as needed.
- Pre-operative H & P’s, Postoperative follow ups, wound care, and lab review.
- Possible 1st assist duties to surgeons on a weekly basis once granted hospital privileges.
A typical day includes meeting and charting 25+ patients in the clinic and/or by tele-health to discuss surgical and dietary weight loss.
Requires Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent clinical judgment
- Proficient with Google, Microsoft Office Suite or related software, creating or using smart phrases.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.
- Regular timely attendance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Bilingual-Spanish desired
- Familiarity or experience with EPIC- EMR system desired.
License/Certification:
- Active California PA/NP license
- Current CA DEA license
Work setting:
In person with the possibility of tele-work.

Experience:
- GI or Bariatric Experience preferred
- Experience in a surgical or weight loss related field a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Typing, Keying, Manual dexterity to perform medical procedures and operate equipment

Pay: Hourly or Salary starting at $145,000.00+ per year, DOE
