Job Purpose
The Medical Records Specialist will ensure entry of data into FCC Medical Records System (Avatar) in a timely manner as well as answers questions from those needing information regarding his/her medical records.
Qualifications

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in clerical functioning and reception duties is preferred.

Proficient use of a computer is needed.
Core Job Duties

Initiates the medical record by processing client records requests.

Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Maintains patient confidence by keeping patient records information confidential.

Ensuring communication and coordination with and between multiple service providers.

Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.

Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.

Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.

Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
