IT Technical Specialist
IT Technical Specialist’s responsibility is to deploy, secure, maintain and monitor all of Woodcraft’s software, hardware, and communication systems. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. IT Technical Specialist should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. The goal will be to ensure that Woodcraft’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
This is a full-time, on-site position.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT administration, preferably in a retail environment.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Knowledge of cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience with endpoint security, antivirus, and patch management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
- Certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, or CompTIA A+ are a plus.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
- Provide end-user support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize technology solutions.
- Oversee system backups, disaster recovery, and data protection.
- Assist in the selection, deployment, and management of software applications.
- Monitor network performance and security, addressing any vulnerabilities promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Retail IT Support experience is desired.
- Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
- Ability to create scripts and automate complex tasks.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered.
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to both work well with a team and independently.
