Sea Captain’s House has been a favorite of the Grand Strand for over 60 years. We are a high-volume, fast-paced, oceanfront restaurant with an award-winning kitchen that is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team!
Kitchen Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all standards/regulations of DHEC
- Achieving profitable, competitive, and quality products
- Assisting the Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef with all interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training of back of the house employees
- Scheduling and managing the maintenance and sanitation of all kitchen equipment in accordance with federal & state regulations
- Assisting in monitoring, analyzing, and controlling all labor and food costs to ensure achieving budget standards
- Educating employees on the Accident Prevention Program to minimize injuries
- Assisting Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef in the creation, costing and implementation of seasonal and special menus
- Assist in the ordering and inventory of all food & kitchenware
- Performing special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Work with FOH managers to ensure the highest guest satisfaction and optimal experience
- Other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
- Experienced Kitchen Employment – minimum 2 years in kitchen management is required
- Experience in a high volume restaurant
- Knowledge of DHEC policies is required
- ServeSafe Certified is a plus, but not required
- Must be a team player
- Able to follow recipes
- Performs well in a fast pace environment
- Accustomed to working multiple stations
