Acela Architects + Engineers, PC is a full services Architectural and Engineering firm in Allentown, PA, consisting of Civil Engineers, Land Surveyors, Architects, Interior Designers, Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Plumbing\Fire Protection Engineers. We design new buildings and renovation projects for the Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, and Aviation sectors.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with six to ten years of experience to join our structural group. The key responsibilities of a Senior Structural Engineer include, but are not limited to:

The position offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to advance their career as a lead structural project engineer and build strong working relationships with new and existing clients. The candidate will report to the department head and senior leadership while overseeing the day-to-day tasks of their own projects while providing leadership and mentoring guidance of early career engineers. The candidate will work in collaboration with Architects and MEP Engineers to maintain project quality, profitability, performance and client satisfaction.
Position Responsibilities
- Mentor structural support staff.
- Assist Director with developing budgets and project proposals.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for construction coordination as needed.
- Coordinate with subconsultants and project managers.
- Perform structural engineering design and analysis.
- Design structural elements of each project using hand calculations, computer software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or RISA.
- Participate in team and client design meetings.
- Implement design or analysis tasks in accordance with building code requirements.
- Prepare design details and construction plans to clearly convey the intent of the structural design for coordination with drafting.
- Review, comment and edit as required on all project plans, specifications, and related documents prior to submitting for QA review.
- Review, comment and coordinate all shop drawing reviews to ensure compliance with design.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
