General Description
The center accounting manager position is responsible for the accounting operations of the center, which includes the production of periodic financial statements and reports, maintenance of the accounting system, controls and records to mitigate financial risk, enhance the accuracy of the center's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP).
The individual filling this position will manage and provide oversight of all financial activities, plans, and accounting practices, including the timely preparation of monthly financial and management reports, forecasts, and departmental business performance, as well as advising on center profitability, future business growth, and cost reduction and investment activities.
The accounting manager is responsible for the daily activities of the accounting department which includes preparation of cash flow forecasts, maintenance of cost controls, accounts receivable (including contractual allowances), accounts payable, payroll, patient billing, capital assets and budgets.
The accounting manager also ensures that effective internal accounting controls are in place to protect the center’s assets and that an adequate system of internal controls is maintained so that general ledger accounts are correctly stated.
The accounting manager oversees the preparation of the center’s financial statements and reports and analyzes and provides explanations for revenue and expense variances in order to determine any corrective action that may need to be taken. The accounting manager also ensures that transactions are correctly categorized and recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The accounting manager also leads monthly and quarterly finance presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
The position’s duties are broadly defined and usually require prioritizing. The person in the role must be able to process requests from various functional managers, supervisors, or employees and adjust their schedule accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows and reports for stakeholders and government regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial tracking and reporting systems in coordination with Interim CFO.
- Maintain financial discipline for the center, including collections, cost control, vendor payments and manage the center’s liquidity.
- Advise Management of critical present and future financial issues for consideration.
- Partner with the Interim CFO to ensure financial statement audits, tax returns, and other reports are completed in a timely and accurately by the center’s independent accounting firm.
- Develop both short and long-term operating budgets and forecasts.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Work closely with Human Resources to record appropriate accounting entries of payroll and benefits.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting operating procedures and controls.
- Analyze financial performance and make recommendations for improvements
Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com is required.
- Experience in Healthcare or Healthcare-related industry is preferred.

Education/Degree
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience and 5+ years of progressively responsible financial accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations and a healthcare background required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
