We are seeking candidates to provide Help Desk-level maintenance and network support to IT users company wide. The position will install and troubleshoot computer hardware/software, systems, and data related to email, printers, phone system, etc. Additionally, this position will support network connectivity for CPUs, laptops, VPNs, remote desktop and mobile devices (both on site and remotely). This position will require a dynamic professional that’s able to adapt and manage a wide range of technical responsibilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Administration and internal support of the company PCs, servers, internet, A/V equipment, network wiring/cabling, phones and related equipment;
- Assisting employee users with all IT-related issues and providing desktop support across a distributed workforce with multiple offices (remote support for those outside of NYC);
- Setting up and closing all hardware and software IT requests for new/departing employees, including sourcing and rolling out desktop or laptop, cell phone and desk phone, and personal scanners/other peripherals;
- Ensure servers and systems are up according to their SLAs and mitigate risks concerning downtime / data loss;
- Spearheading and acting as point person for IT/network projects, ensuring on time and on budget completion with minimal operational impact;
- Working effectively and efficiently with outside vendors, often times liaising between vendors and our users;
- Correctly prioritizing and troubleshooting issues reported by users for timely resolution, escalating to management/outside vendors when required;
- Providing basic level of training on proprietary programs for new users;
- Completing system upgrades, maintaining licensing, performing routine PC maintenance;
- Maintaining inventory for IT-related consumables; and
- Assisting executive management with research and special projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have excellent communication and prioritization skills with an emphasis on customer service & satisfaction;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar, plus two years relevant experience;
- An appetite to learn
- Windows Server administration experience, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, print servers a plus;
- Virtual machine administration experience (specifically VMWare) – configuring, resizing, deploying, decommissioning a plus;
- O365 and Azure administration experience a plus;
- Networking and Firewall setup and maintenance experience a plus;
- Scripting experience with PowerShell / batch scripting, PERL, Python, etc. a plus
