About us:
At Atidaynu - Our Future School, our aim is to assist children with autism in overcoming their social and behavioral challenges by providing them with the necessary life skills to navigate through life. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the unique needs of each student and includes direct social skills intervention, intensive language lessons, and academic instruction. We integrate an ABA approach and provide a structured classroom environment to ensure that students with autism receive the maximum benefits from our program
Responsibilities:
- You would be integral in helping to develop students’ social and life skills.
- You would work with the speech and language pathologist to develop a curriculum and integrate speech and language throughout the class day.
- All our staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, and providers) are trained in Discrete Trial Training (DTT), data collection, program design, social skills training, and positive behavior management.
- All staff attend annual training about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in General Education, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, or in their BCBA program.
- New York State teaching license or certification
We take an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) approach with our students. Please let us know in your application if you have any experience with ABA and working with children or adults with ASD.
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM.
- Year-round as well as for summer. We recognize the struggle of finding a summer job, although we have a short break in the summer, allowing you to recharge and prepare for the upcoming academic year.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
