Under the direction of the Family Child Care Coordinator, the Family Child Care Coach will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with family child care providers.
- Provide coaching, training, technical assistance and support to local family child care providers in response to referrals from the state and/or CCDF partners.
- Collaborate with specialty coaches to provide targeted technical assistance to family child care educators.
- Maintain professional working relationship with area coaches.
- Maintain knowledge on the principles of effective Family Child Care engagement and business practices.
- Contact all family child care agencies in service delivery area at least two times per year.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Tennessee Quality Rating and Improvement System.
- Deliver scheduled training events for the quarterly training calendar both virtually and in person.
- Become a CPR/First Aid certified trainer and maintain certification.
- Identify and work with Family Child Care Demonstration Sites.
- Support family child care educators participating in the Family Child Care Specialization.
- Support family child care agencies seeking national accreditation through the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) and/or other national accreditation systems.
- Support the development of Enhanced Quality Improvement Plans with family child care providers.
- Provide support for the regional Children in Disaster Task Force including but not limited to consultation with family child care providers for emergency preparedness planning.
- Create and facilitate peer learning groups for family child care providers.
- Submit data on TA, TTA, training and coaching within three days of when service was delivered.
- Coordinate and support Family Child Care statewide and regional conferences.
- Participate in planning and family child care program development meetings.
- Attend required trainings to increase knowledge and skills.
- Participate in advisory committee meetings, partner meetings, and other meetings as requested.
- Provide technical support to local CCR&R staff.
- Serve as a facilitator for the Train the Trainer Institutes and Supplemental trainings.
- Author content for CCR&R newsletter/social media/website and the agency newsletter.
- Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community.
- Attain and maintain AIMHiTN endorsement.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Must have bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three years of early childhood/education experience. Direct care experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the QRIS and licensing programs in TN and the role of the Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral Network.
- Ability to work remotely from a home office within the state of Tennessee.
- Ability to train adults using principles of adult learning.
- Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
- Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently within service area.

- Knowledge of quality practices as they pertain to caring for children in family child care settings.
- Ability to provide coaching, training and/or technical assistance, and develop applicable training resources for family child care providers.
