PROJECT MANAGER

Part of that means expanding professional opportunities in various areas, which is the reason for this open Project Manager position.
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide effective management for all assigned projects achieving the goals of safety, budget compliance, schedule compliance and customer satisfaction while adhering to company standards, processes, and objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with all aspects of the plans, technical specifications, and contract language for assigned projects.
- Schedule all subcontractors and material suppliers
- Expand & use the projects schedule and incorporate the labor budget, procurement leads and contract dates.
- Maintain the electronic filing system in accordance with standard company procedure for assigned projects.
- Work with the Purchasing Department to ensure purchase orders or subcontracts are issued in a timely manner to protect quoted pricing and to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment or services and that crews are available to meet the project schedule.
- Ensure timely completion of a thorough shop drawing submittal log including the applicable plan sheet, specification, location, etc.
- Perform a detailed review of all shop drawings submittals to ensure compliance with the plans and technical specifications and provide overall management of the shop drawing submittal process.
- Create change orders in the evolution of a project.
- Ensure that the appearance and condition of the site presents a favorable image to the client and public.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in coordination of the foreman and craft workers for reassignments to and from assigned projects.
- Check daily work orders to ensure proper cost code, worker classifications and to ensure compliance with applicable overtime and holiday requirements.
- Assign the applicable job costs accounts and approve AP invoices for payment.
- Arrange for timely delivery and return of required rental equipment.
- Process change-orders to include the associated budget changes.
- Update the monthly job status report for submittal to the controller.
- Ensure timely processing of progress payment requests, including stored material invoicing.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure progress is consistent with the schedule.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with the owner, engineer, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Implement the standard Project Management Procedures adopted by the company for all assigned projects.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of large-scale project management involving some or all of the following: site work, foundations, structural steel, process equipment, material handling equipment, process piping, pre-engineered metal buildings and subcontractor management preferred.
- Possess a good working knowledge of standard contract language used in the construction industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to effectively communicate and coordinate with the field supervisory staff, field engineers, assistant project managers, subcontractors and vendors.
- Knowledge of assigned project budgets, completion deadlines and safety compliance.
- Demonstrates the ability to remain composed and focused when faced with challenging and stressful situations.
- Possesses profitable management skills to take assigned projects from budget and scheduling stage to final punch list and completion, to include all design coordination, purchasing and field production.
- Strong daily communication skills with Operations regarding equipment and manpower needs
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with customers.
- Ability to set expectations and provide project updates (daily narrative) to customers and subcontractors.
- Able to drive compliance with the plans, specifications, local codes, and requirements of the scope of work.
- Strong documentation skills for all project activities in daily report for submittal to Operations
- Capable of making high quality decisions
- Conscious of any safety concerns, accidents, or injuries in relation to the labor force to Management
- Able to maintain quality standards through site inspections.
- Can organize and coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Confident to perform final walk-through with customer.
- Ability to Identify areas outside of the contracted scope of work.
- Proven track record of applying cost projection knowledge in practical scenarios.
- Proficiency in Construction Cost Management; planning, controlling, and monitoring financial resources to achieve objectives.
- Organizational skills to set priorities, monitor progress, and react to changing circumstances and to assist in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Firm understanding of building systems and design, as well as interpreting project drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Proven self-starter who strives for excellence, can embrace challenges and meet company expectations.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred.
- Experience in industrial construction preferred.
- 5+ years Project Management Experience or BS Degree in Engineering, CM or equivalent CM experience
