Southern Foodservice Management Inc., a national contract food service company,is now looking to hire a full-time Lead Cook for our corporate dining facility at IRS Corporate located in Austin, TX 78741. This is a great job government paid holidays, it's a fast paced, busy environment
The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed and the shift is 6:00am – 3:00pm.
The pay range is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience.
You will be responsible for directing and controlling food preparation, planning a weekly menu rotation with the flexibility of different recipes, serving entrees, side dishes, soups and more with a focus on providing the best quality food and service every day.
You should have knowledge of minimizing food waste, food sanitation and be well versed on kitchen safety, have a professional appearance, dependable transportation, teachable attitude and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operations.
- Food preparation and presentation, including portion control.
- Assists in the adherence to maintaining budget compliance for daily food cost and assists with end of month reporting.
- Ensures all equipment is in good working order and always kept clean.
- Follow all SFM general safety and food safety procedures.
- Personnel development of other food service staff.
- Maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
- 5 years patch cooking experience.
- 5 years solid FOH and BOH management skills.
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Full understanding of proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- State Food Handlers permit required.
