Sea Bags, makers of totes, handbags and accessories made from recycled sailboat sails, has an immediate opening for a store manager in our Portsmouth store. If you are a strong leader with a can-do attitude, we’d like to talk to you. Scope of Job
Leadership of the day-to-day operation of the Sea Bags retail store leading all selling, customer service, and operational functions. Ensures product levels are maintained and key out-of-stocks are communicated regularly. Motivates and manages store employees ensuring all service levels, standards and procedures are followed accordingly. Manages staffing plans, payroll hours and overall expenses to ensure costs stay at or below prescribed levels. Recruits and trains all new employees to ensure a solid understanding of company information, product knowledge, upselling techniques, and point of sale functions. Ensures the store environment and visual standards are maintained at or above standards providing a pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience for all customers and guests. Supports social media initiatives and company directives. Ensures all employees are well-versed on the sail trade program.
Basic Function
· Proactively share the Sea Bags brand story and cornerstones of the business in a manner that leads to increasing sales, exemplary service, and the best possible brand and shopping experience.
Job Responsibilities
· Be the driving force behind the Sea Bags brand and leading the store in driving sales.
· Provides exceptional customer service to all customers and guests.
· Expert on product knowledge by keeping current on all new products, collections as well as core product lines.
· Motivates sales associates to meet daily goals and provide exemplary service.
· Prepares and manages staffing schedules and plans to ensure adequate coverage exists and payroll budgets are maintained.
· Communicates customer feedback, business trends and recommendations to the Director of Stores.
· Consistently upholds a neat, clean and organized store and stockroom.
· Maintains visual presentation standards and follows all directives accordingly.
· Communicates with Merchandiser, Inventory Control and Director of Stores to ensure store is replenished and stocked accordingly.
· Maintains the protection of all company assets, controlling internal and external loss.
· Supports all social media initiatives, directives, company engagements and promotions.
· Manages sail trade program within the store.
Job Qualifications
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements)
· Be a team player and jump in and support any needs in the company when called upon.
· Previous and successful experience as a retail manager, supervisor or have commensurate experience.
· Good listener with solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
· Strong ability to communicate and articulate processes and instructions both orally and in writing.
· Strong motivator of people.
· Solid customer service skills.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
· Experience with POS software with aptitude for learning.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs in unloading trucks or receiving sail trades.
· Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
· Capable of occasional long work periods during store openings.
· Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business. *
Preferred Requirements
· Bachelors or Associates degree in business
· Knowledge of Google Docs and Google Sheets
