Job Description: PLC Programmer
As a PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for writing PLC programs for automation equipment. You will also be responsible for installing these programs along with the Technician. In addition to this, you should be testing the system efficiency as and when required.
To be successful as a PLC Programmer, you should have a sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles. You should also have experience in finding faults in the system. Moreover, you should have an excellent ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities
- Meeting and knowing the client's requirements for electrical and mechanical needs.
- Designing and drafting 2D Electrical[TD1] drawings.
- Reading and interpreting the logical flow diagram.
- Explaining to the clients how electrical components operate.
- Using automation software to write, troubleshoot and modify PLC programs.
- Preparing documents to instruct the users how to use the device and other safety instructions.
- Testing the program using automation equipment for its reliability.
- Troubleshooting any faults in the system.
- Supervising the installation of PLC programs.
- Providing guidance and support to the Technicians.
- Offering training to the Technicians and other team members.
- Maintaining the PLC programs.
- Working in coordination with Engineering and Production team.
Qualifications
- Working experience as a PLC Programmer, or a similar role in the Engineering industry.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical (including 480V motor circuits), and software principles.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Experience programming Siemens PLC’s using TIA Portal
- Experience programming Schnieder PLC’s using Unity Pro
- Extensive knowledge of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming languages (Ladder logic, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text & Statement List).
- Experience configuring/programming Variable Frequency Drives
- Exceptional logic reasoning abilities.
- Proficiency in E-Plan Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Excellent ability to work under no supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as and when required.
- Ability to solve/troubleshoot complex problems.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent mathematics and arithmetic skills.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Salary Range: Payrate will be based on experience: competitive
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
